Welcome to my brand new blog, 'Sex Talk' inspired by Sexercize
What is Sexercize?
Basically it’s whatever you want it to be… Essentially ‘sexercize’ is a song written by Sia for Kylie Minogue’s Kiss Me Once album and the song is all feisty, quirky, fun and sexual.
In my opinion, no one sexercizes better than Kylie but there’s more to it than just that!
‘Sexercize’ has inspired many of artist to put their own interpretation of the true meaning of ‘sexercize’ and they answer the questions of how one ‘sexercizes.’ Kylie answers her interpretation of ‘sexercize’ on the making of her video as, “How does one sexercize? Basically it’s whatever you want it to be. This is just my interpretation.”
With the help of Chandelier Creative in New York City, the artists mentioned and many others versions of ‘Sexercize’ have been combined and expressed as a gallery of artworks by different artists who have been inspired by ‘Sexercize’ in different forms on sexercize.tv. Firstly, the song has various music videos, each directed by different artists following their inspirations and interpretations: Kylie’s expressing the wonders of the female body while disregarding all sexual preferences and ages, VFILES is discovering that perfect model to be the face of ‘sexercize' could be a model or artist of any description, Roman Coppola showcases the sexiness of the Maserati with Kylie polishing it very sexually and finally Chandelier Creative’s interpretation underpins Kylie’s sex inspired music that has been revitalised into something quirky, fun and cartoon-like for her Kiss Me Once Tour in 2014/15. ‘Sexercize’ has also inspired many artists to visually interpret ‘sexercize’ in picture or GIF form. Following artists include, Lespecs, Reilly and Matt Maitland (all featured on sexericze.tv). One of my favourite interpretations of ‘sexercize’ is a documentery feature by National Geographic about how the many different animals of the animal kingdom sexercizes and reproduce. It’s really quirky and interesting way of expressing something that makes up mother nature and should be respected. Sexercize.tv also features a Sextrology and many other artworks. ‘Sexercize’ is a word with many meanings and interpretations that have been inspired by many people including myself. That’s why I am so obsessed with it. I want to embrace it by helping others express themselves and show me how they ‘sexercize’…
Now to my interpretation of ‘sexercize'; ‘sexercize’ is the ultimate expression of self, art, love and sex (of coarse). Regardless of your age, gender, race, body type, hobbies or sexual preference. Anyone can ‘sexercize’! Some of you will find ‘sexercize’ being quite provocative or crude and to others it won’t but that is the amazing thing about art. Some people have an abstract mind and others don’t. Simple. Obviously ‘sexercize’ is sex presented as an art form but also an expression of self in which we all should embrace.
I want this blog to be beneficial to those who are having trouble discovering who they are. It’s difficult because in youth culture today, we are pressured into looking a certain way or being a certain type of people to be popular or liked in our community. I believe that is wrong. We all should be loved just the way we are and we shouldn't have to change that to suit others or society. It’s also controversial because some of us want to satisfy others in order to satisfy ourselves by having that sense of completion or closure to our goals of being liked or popular. But in my opinion, theres no need to be popular. Someone will love you for who you uniquely and naturally are. I want this blog to inspire people to be themselves regardless of social norms. It’s okay to be different. Accept your flaws and embrace them. Make them unique because being normal is boring…
